About Shirley
When Shirley left school, she joined her mum ( Ray Silver )
and her grandfather ( Jack Silver ) in the family magic business.
The Silray Magic Company manufactured and supplied magic props
and illusions to magicians around the world.
Shirley’s introduction to the balloon industry came much later when, through the world of Magic and Entertainment,
she discovered that twisting balloons added fun to her magic act.
She caught the balloon bug and it wasn’t long before she began designing and creating her own balloon figures and characters.
Shirley is proud to have earned her CBA (certified balloon artist) qualification and whilst teaching at the Diamond Jam balloon convention in Arizona, the Dewey Award for Balloon Excellence and her contribution to the world of balloon art. In the balloon world, she is known for her lifelike caricatures, creative twisted designs and her eye-catching detail. Shirley has been invited to teach at many International balloon conventions and events.

Shirley’s work has been featured many times on T.V. and one of her many challenges included creating Balloon Vikings and Viking Weapons for Episode 3 of CBBC's “Trade Your Way To The USA”
The teams “Victores & Profiteroles” competed to see which team could make the most money selling her Viking themed balloons
on the Streets of York during the Viking Festival.
Shirley’s balloon art has also been spotlighted and featured in the
“Balloon Magic” and ”Balloon Images” magazines.
Shirley is the writer and author of numerous instructional books,
articles and DVDs
Shirley, who is a third generation magician, followed in the footsteps of her mum and dad (both magicians in their own right) to pursue a career in magic. She has since won many prestigious awards in both the world of Magic and Balloons.
In 2009/2010, Shirley was honoured to represent the British Ring as President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, British Ring No.25. Shirley is passionate about her work in both the Magic & Balloon Industry and for many years, was proud to be one of Pioneer’s
International Instructors
Shirley's greatest love is travelling, teaching and passing on her knowledge
to help others achieve their goals.
